What kind of making?
There aren’t really any rules over what people make at Maker Nights, it’s very much driven by the people who turn up and what they want to build. However, with the current make-up of the regular attendees there’s a definite slant towards the sorts of things that show up in Make magazine – the blend of electronics and software that is Arduino, and new digital fabrication methods like 3D-printing and laser-cutting.
At each event we run an introductory talk to explain what all this sort of stuff is, and give examples of what you can make with it. The slides from the talk (which is split into two sections) are below, but if you’re at all intrigued I encourage you to come along to one of the events – you’ll get a much better explanation than these slides, and get to see first-hand how easy it is to get started.
